"The Line Drive" Staff Report
Philadelphia Phillies RHP Charlie Morton is scheduled for surgery on his left hamstring on May 2, vice president and general manager Matt Klentak announced Wednesday.
An MRI performed on Monday revealed that Morton tore his left hamstring on April 23 at the Milwaukee Brewers. Morton's recovery time is expected to be 6 to 8 months, which means that Morton will not return this season.
In four games with the Phillies this season, Morton had a 1-1 record and an ERA of 4.15.
