The Detroit Tigers on Sunday announced that they have recalled LHP Matt Boyd from Triple A Toledo.
In a corresponding move, the team placed RHP Francisco Rodriguez on the family medical emergency list.
Boyd (6'3, 215 lbs) was 1-2 with a 2.25 ERA with Toledo in three starts this season. He had 16 strikeouts.
With the Tigers in 2015, Boyd was 1-4 with a 6.57 ERA in 10 starts in 11 appearances. He struck out 36 in 50-2/3 innings.
