The Washington Nationals on Monday recalled infielder Trea Turner from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday and placed first baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the Paternity List, Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo announced.
Acquired by the Nationals, along with right-handed pitcher Joe Ross, in a three-team trade that was agreed upon Dec. 18, 2015 and completed June 14, Turner hit .225 in 27 Major League games in 2015.
Zimmerman, 31, is hitting .250 with a .312 on-base percentage and a .451 slugging percentage in 2016.
