BALTIMORE - Prior to Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox recalled RHP Noe Ramirez from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Ramirez last pitched for the Red Sox on April 23 at the Houston Astros. In nine games with the Red Sox this season, he has posted a 5.79 ERA (6 ER/9.1 IP) with 10 strikeouts and no record.
To make room for Ramirez on the 25-man roster, RHP Joe Kelly was optioned to Pawtucket following last night's game against the Orioles.
Kelly, 27, is 2-0 with an 8.46 ERA (21 ER/22.1 IP) and 27 strikeouts in six starts with the Red Sox this season.
Ramirez will be available for Thursday's game against the Orioles at 7:05pm ET.
The Red Sox also transfered INF/OF Brock Holt to the 15-day disabled list.
