The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired left-handed pitcher Felipe Rivero and minor league lefthanded pitcher Taylor Hearn from the Washington Nationals in exchange for pitcher Mark Melancon. The announcement was made by Pirates Executive Vice President, General Manager Neal Huntington.

He represented the Rays organization in 2012 at the All-Star Futures Game while also being named to the Midwest League mid-season All-Star team while playing for Bowling Green. The 21-year-old Hearn has gone a combined 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA (29.0ip/9er) and 39 strikeouts in 10 games (four starts) this season between the GCL Nationals and Single-A Hagerstown.
