BOSTON, MA -- Prior to today's game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox made the following roster moves:
• Infielder Deven Marrero and catcher Blake Swihart were optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
• Catcher Dan Butler and first baseman Sam Travis were reassigned to minor league camp.
Butler will remain with the major league team through the club's exhibition games against the Nationals in Washington, DC, and Annapolis, MD.
President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement.
With these moves, the Red Sox now have 38 players in big league camp, including 32 players from the 40-man roster and 6 non-roster invitees.
