The Blue Jays claimed utility man Jimmy Paredes off waivers from the Orioles on Monday.
The 27-year-old Paredes was placed on waivers by Baltimore after completing a rehab assignment for a sprained left wrist. He was hitting .309 with two homers in 19 Minor League games this year.
Paredes is a .257/.293/.369 career hitter in parts of five Major League seasons with the Astros, Royals and Orioles.
