Braves select contract of INF/OF Emilio Bonifacio

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves on Sunday selected the contract of INF/OF Emilio Bonifacio.

In 16 games with Triple-A Gwinnett this season, Bonifacio has 22 hits, three doubles and six RBIs in 66 at bats with a .333 batting average.

In a corresponding move, the Braves optioned RHP Chris Winthrow to Gwinnett.

In 10 games with the Braves this season, Winthrow has a 3.86 ERA in seven innings pitched. He has thrown 0.1 innings with Gwinnett this season.
