The Seattle Mariners on Tuesday placed RHP Tony Zych on 15-day DL retroactive to May 2 with rotator cuff tendinitis.
In a corresponding move, the Mariners selected the contract of RHP Steve Johnson from AAA Tacoma.
Johnson posted a 1-0 record, a 2.25 ERA, 10 hits, two walks, 20 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched with Tacoma thus season.
