The Oakland Athletics on Wednesday selected the contract of catcher/OF Matt McBride from Triple-A Nashville.
In 11 games with Nashville in 2016, McBride had six hits and three RBIs in 32 at bats and 37 plate appearances.
In a corresponding move, the Athletics optioned RHP Andrew Triggs to Nashville.
Triggs has a 2-1 record with a 5.14 ERA in six games with Nashville this season.
The Athletics also transfered LHP Felix Doubront to 60-day disabled list.
