Red Sox recall RHP Light, LHP Owens

Pat Light was one of two pitchers recalled by the
Boston Red Sox as of early Sunday evening.
The Boston Red Sox on Sunday recalled LHP Henry Owens & RHP Pat Light (No. 65) from Triple-A Pawtucket.

To make room on the 25-man roster, LHP Roenis Elias and RHP Noe Ramirez were optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket after Saturday's game at the Houston Astros.


Owens, 23, is joining the Red Sox for the second straight season. He made 11 starts for Boston last year, going 1-1 with a 1.00 ERA in three Triple-A starts this year.


Light, 25, will be making his first major league appearance with this call up. He had a 4.05 ERA and .130 batting average against in five Triple-A relief appearances.
