Cubs agree to terms with Joe Nathan, place him on DL

"The Line Drive" Staff Report

CHICAGO - The Chicago Cubs on Tuesday agreed to terms on a one-year deal with RHP Joe Nathan.

However, Nathan was immediately placed on the 60-day DL as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery that took place in April 2015.

During his 15 seasons in the majors --€“ with the Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants -- Nathan has 377 saves and has averaged 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings.
