Rangers acquire C Wilson from Tigers for LHP Bell

The Texas Rangers on Tuesday acquired C Bobby Wilson from the Detroit Tigers for LHP Chad Bell.

In five games with the Tigers this season, Wilson posted two hits and two RBIs in 13 at-bats.

Bell, 27, is 32-28 with a 3.66 ERA in six seasons in the minors. He was 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in five games -- including two starts -- for Triple-A Round Rock this season.

Bell will be assigned to Triple-A Toledo.

To make room for Wilson on the roster, the Rangers designated C Chris Gimenez for assignment.

The Rangers will also make an additional roster move when Wilson joins the Rangers tomorrow. After the additional move, tge Rangers roster will be 25 players.

The Tigers also activated C James McCann from the 15-day disabled list.


UPDATE (5/4/2016): The Rangers on Wednesay optioned C Brett Nicholas to Triple-A Round Rock.
