Marlins option RHPs Flores, Wittgren; Flores on DL

WASHINGTON - The Miami Marlins on Sunday optioned RHPs Kendry Flores and Nick Wittgren to Triple-A New Orleans. Flores was also placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Flores left Saturday's 7-1 win over the Marlins with a right shoulder strain.

"I felt good those first two innings," Flores said through an interpreter. "It's just an unfortunate ending."

Flores allowed one hit, walked three and had one strikeout in the game. He was replaced by Jose Urena in the fourth.

In a corresponding move, the Marlins recalled LHP Jarlin Garcia from New Orleans.
